MIT SVA Professional Development Series - Interviewing Techniques for Veterans

We hosted the second event in our Professional Development Series, interviewing techniques for veterans, in partnership with MIT CAPD. Veterans learned to effectively communicate their experiences across professional disciplines in a way that is understood and indicative of the qualities interviewers look for.

The MIT SVA is nationally recognized as a Chapter of the Year Finalist by the Student Veterans of America for our work during 2021-2022 school year.
MIT Veterans Day Celebration

MIT comes together to honor our veterans at the MIT Veterans Day Celebration in Walker Memorial. Special guests included Admiral (ret.) David Lane and former Massachusetts Secretary of Veterans’ Services Coleman Nee.

First Monthly Members Meeting (M3) in the New Lounge

With the Student Veterans Lounge now open, monthly member meetings (M3) can now be in person! Pictured is our first meeting in the new space. Please feel free to attend if you ever want to socialize with other veterans and hear what SVA is doing. There's also food! Details and location on the lounge are below.
Student Veterans Lounge Opening

If you haven't heard, the Student Veterans Lounge is now open! It is located in the basement of the Walker Memorial Building (Building 50) in room 50-010. Entry to the building is controlled by CovidPass. If you need the access code to the door, please email veterans-exec@mit.edu.
9/11 Run to Remember

In partnership with the Sloan Veterans Club, we had a great turnout for the 9/11 Run to Remember. Thanks to all of you who came out to enjoy this beautiful Saturday morning in remembrance of those who lost their lives 20 years ago. Special thanks to Ian Culver for organizing the event!
MIT SVA Welcome Back Dinner

We held a dinner for our student veterans to welcome them back to another year at MIT, in-person! It was so nice to see each other again and reconnect after being on Zoom for over a year. This is the first of many social events to come in the next school year!
